Remaining Secrets of Rich & Powerful from Panama Papers Publish Today at 2 pm (EST)

Hidden secrets of the rich and powerful from the Panama Papers will finally be available for public view today. The International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) is publishing a huge database that will reveal how some of the world’s most privileged people hide their money while evading higher tax obligations. The shocking details will be reportedly published online at 2 pm EST today, Monday, May 9th via ICIJ here.

An investigation was launched last month after leaked information landed in the hands of German journalists. The information was later shared with the ICIJ, a global network of investigative journalists from more than 65 countries. Its mission and purpose is to eliminate cross-jurisdictional secrecy and promote a united and collaborative front of global investigative journalists.

Initial and partial reviews from the Panama Paper’s 11,000 documents have already led to the removal of some government heads. More negative consequences for politicians and other elitists are expected during the aftermath that follows today’s 2 pm total document share. A disclaimer from the ICIJ site reads:

“There are legitimate uses for offshore companies and trusts. We do not intend to suggest or imply that any persons, companies or other entities included in the ICIJ Offshore Leaks Database have broken the law or otherwise acted improperly. If you find an error in the database please get in touch with us.”

Marina Walker, Deputy Director at ICIJ cautions the public with this tweet:
