Gaining Through Giving

At SkyStem, we are all problem solvers.

As much as I enjoy tackling financial issues, my work with social problems has been quite rewarding. Outside of my role at SkyStem, I am on the Board of Directors of a non-profit organization called Bianca’s Kids. Our aim is to help underprivileged children by granting them wishes. Some are sick, some are in poverty, some are disabled, but all are in need.

Certain demographics have an issue with getting lost in the cracks of the population. Somehow, they go unnoticed and untouched. Being part of an organization that aims to recognize such individuals is fulfilling and heartwarming. This year, we sponsored 800 children for holiday gifts alone. Those are 800 children who will have at least one gift to open on Christmas morning.

What is so wonderful about this time of year- Thanksgiving- is that we can all reflect on our blessings. It is truly humbling to see how thankful those we help are. I am so grateful to all of our sponsors, donors, and volunteers who, no matter what their life situation, always recognize that there are people who are worse-off.

This Thanksgiving, I am not only thankful for the wonderful, problem-solving team I work with, but for the opportunity I have been afforded to give back. I hope today, and every other day, you will find time in your heart for others.
